The Camino de Santiago is a 800km spiritual pilgrimage marched, limped and crawled by thousands every year. For some it is a physical challenge that needs to be repeated; for others an emotional journey, a part of healing. Camino Skies, is a fly-on-the-wall insight following 6 such pilgrims who, once strangers find themselves on the journey of a lifetime together.
Various motivations – life, love and loss, led our heroes aged between 50 and 80 from Australia and New Zealand to the historic trail. Camino Skies is equal parts inspiration and heart break. It will see you cheering on the 6 pilgrims as they defy the frustrations of age, sorrow and fatigue to find acceptance and peace.
Camino Skies is Directed and produced by Limelight Distribution’s Fergus Grady (Cargo, West of Sunshine) and Noel Smyth who also served as Cinematographer. After the World Premiere at the recent Newport Beach Film Festival, Camino Skies will premiere in New Zealand at the Doc Edge Festival in Auckland and Wellington with a further 2 special screenings in Pahiatua and Christchurch.
Camino Skies will be in cinemas nationwide from Thursday 11th July with an Australian release from Thursday 1st August.
