Are you looking for a recipe for delicious and easy to make pizza bases? Pizza is always popular and a great way to use up any leftover ingredients from the night before.
Try this easy home made pizza base recipe. Fast and easy, this comes out every time and is a delicious thin pizza base. Pizzas are also fun to make and something you can make with grandchildren – they’ll love adding their favourite toppings.
1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon yeast (if you have the sachets, 1 will do)
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 3/4 cups of flour
1.5 teaspoons salt
Preheat your oven to 220 degrees and prepare baking trays with flour
Add warm water, yeast and sugar to a bowl and leave for around 5 minutes until it begins to froth.
Mix in olive oil then add flour and salt. A sticky dough will begin to emerge.
Turn out to a floured clean surface and knead slightly. This can be sticky so use extra flour as required.
Cut in half and roll out into your desired shape. Ensure it is a fairly even thickness
Lay on to the prepared tray and prick a few times with a fork
Bake on the lowest rack of your oven for 5 minutes
Remove from the oven and add your favourite toppings
Return to the oven and cook for a further 15 minutes or until it is at your desired crispiness.
Remove from the oven, cool slightly, slice and enjoy!
When rolling out, this can stick to the bench so make sure you use plenty of flour and you can use a knife to help scrape off the bench if needed.
We added a little cheese to the crust and rolled up to make a ‘cheesy crust’ – delicious
This makes 2 pizzas, enough for 2 adults and 2 children
Halve the recipe if this sounds like too much for you (but remember you can always reheat it the next day)
