With news of the coronavirus scaring the heck out of us (another thing to worry about), and sanitizer now impossible to buy anywhere, I decided to see if I could find a recipe to make my own. I explored Mr Google.
This is a recipe I found:
- 1 cup of isopropyl alcohol (no lower than 70%)
- ½ cup of aloe vera gel
- 15 drops of Tea tree oil
Whisk these ingredients like crazy to fully mix and put the mixture into sterilized containers. I believe you can use the sanitizer to also sterilize the containers by putting a little of the sanitizer into the containers. Shake it around so the interior is completely wet, and then leave to evaporate. Important – for safety, don’t forget to label the containers.
These ingredients apparently are available from a chemist. Personally, I think it wise to discuss the effect of this recipe with the chemist first. That’s what I’m going to do before I make it. Alcohol is a known germ killer, so it does make certain sense. Hopefully isopropyl alcohol is cheaper than gin.
Anyhow, I thought I’d share this with Grandparent readers.
