RECIPE: Relax with Buttery Chamomile Biscuits

Are you looking for the best biscuit or cookie recipe that uses chamomile tea? Then look no further. Try these buttery chamomile biscuits which may help you relax during a stressful time. Even baking can help you relax and keep your mind off things.

We have also made this a slightly smaller recipe as we can’t share food at the moment but double up if you’re looking at this recipe post lockdown (it will happen!)

 

INGREDIENTS
115 grams room temperature butter
¼ cup sugar
Pinch of salt
Zest from 1 lemon
1 teaspoon loose leaf chamomile tea (break apart a tea bag if you need)
1 cup flour

METHOD
Preheat oven to 160 degrees
Beat butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy
Add the lemon zest, chamomile tea and flour and mix until smooth
Press in to a lined cake pan
Bake for 30 minutes or until the biscuit starts to turn golden around the edges.
Cut in to pieces and leave to cool in the tray on a wire rack
Once cooled, remove from the pan and serve with a cup of tea

TIPS
Use a square or round cake tin, if you use a round tin, cut in to ‘cake slice’ shapes
Eat with any tea you enjoy but if you are feeling anxious, a chamomile tea may help relax you.
Let us know if you try these with any other flavoured teas – we think green tea may be nice but haven’t tried this as yet.
