Sofa Sightseeing: Taupo

During lockdown we brought you Sofa Sightseeing, a series of photos from various travels. Luckily, since lockdown has lifted, we have been able to travel a bit more.

Today we bring you Sofa Sightseeing: Taupo. Taupo is a wonderful central point of the North Island. Famous for the largest lake in New Zealand, the Huka Falls, the Super Loo, Hole in One Golf Shot, trout fishing and kayaking.

It is a wonderful place for families and adventurers alike. Situated north of Mt Ruapehu which you can see on clear days, Taupo is a common hub for those completing the Tongariro Crossing.

While the weather wasn’t brilliant when we went through, we decided to go down to the Taupo Boat Harbour for a coffee. Enjoy some of the photos we took on our way through.

Do you visit Taupo often? Also, you can catch up on more Sofa Sightseeing HERE.
