As New Zealand is an isolated island at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, we are fortunate to have unique plant life including many durable and long-lasting hard woods that are still in many homes to this day.
There are 574 native trees and shrubs in New Zealand with a number of these threatened. The New Zealand Plant Conservation Network was founded in 2003 and is working on protecting and restoring New Zealand’s indigenous plant life.
